Health and safety in the work place (City and Guilds 4065-12 Level 2 Award)



The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a single unit qualification that will provide your employees with the basic knowledge for keeping themselves and those around them safe in a work environment, covering skills such as using protective equipment, dealing with accidents and controlling risks.


The delivery will include practical and theoretical activities resulting in a formal exam at the end of the day.

  • Consequences of non-compliance
  • Training requirements and communication
  • Hazard and risk
  • The risk assessment process, and the benefits
  • Identifying and managing common workplace hazards, including:
  • Fire
  • Manual handling
  • Electricity
  • Slips, trips and falls (working at height)
  • Display screen equipment
  • Harmful agents and pollutants
  • Accident response, including:
  • Care of injured party
  • Making the area safe
  • Preserving the scene
  • Accident reporting

Assessment/Exams

  • Written exam: Unit 201
  • Duration: 1 hour / Number of questions: 20
  • This is a “closed book” exam, so candidates cannot refer to any written materials during the exam
