Following his apprenticeship at Northbrook College, Charlie Waring hasn’t looked back. He has won awards, travelled in Europe on behalf of his employer and been promoted twice.
Charlie completed a Business and Admin apprenticeship at Northbrook College and worked at recruitment consultancy, Assystem, as a Recruitment Administration Apprentice. After completing his apprenticeship, the company offered Charlie a full time job as a Resourcer, sourcing candidates for specific jobs. More recently, he has been promoted to a Recruiter. Charlie says of his apprenticeship “It gave me a platform and a plan and I could see where I was going and what I was working towards.”
Northbrook’s Apprentice of the Year 2014 was won by Charlie and he was also recently awarded Employee of the Quarter at Assystem.
Following the success of his apprenticeship and ongoing career at Assystem, Charlie is now studying for his certificate in recruitment practice and plans to continue with qualifications at levels 4 & 5 in recruitment thereafter. He is evidently an advocate of apprenticeships following his success, saying “When I’m recruiting and I see someone’s done an apprenticeship, I recognise that they’ve put in time and effort into learning with a clear goal in mind. They offer a recognised qualification and I’m glad to see that they are becoming more popular again since my apprenticeship was so beneficial to me”.
