A former Fashion & Textiles student has been hailed as the Brighton and Hove Young Start-Up Talent winner for 2015.
Jodie Deakin was awarded the prize for her new company, ‘Hounds & Hides’, which specialises in bespoke personalised luxury leather pet accessories. Hounds & Hides produces every product by hand from start to finish in their studios, using premium Italian leathers.
Dan Simpson of Hartley Fowler, who was part of the judging panel, said, “Jodie is absolutely a worthy winner. She has drive, she knew what she wanted to do and I think she’s going to be a very successful business woman.”
Jodie was awarded £50,000 worth of business products and services, all donated by local sponsors to support the start-up of a successful business.
Young Start-up Talent is a community based project whose aims are to help 16-25 year olds with an entrepreneurial flair for business and make their dreams a reality.
