A group of Northbrook College graduates have been employed to work on the current Star Wars series.
Prop Making and Special Effects graduates Rebecca Boot, Lucy Hinsley, Pip Norris, Keith Thomson, Cecelia Smith, Shane Heslop and Guy Watson worked on big budget movie 'Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens' which was released on 17th December. The film has received five Oscar award nominations.
The students worked at the world-renowned Pinewood studios in Slough, Buckinghamshire, making everything from storm trooper armour to details inside the Millennium Falcon.
Dan Jenkins, Course Leader for the Prop making and Special Effects degree course at Northbrook said, “Our courses are highly practical and we believe that training should be as the current industry requires, exploring the latest materials and methods.
“All students get to work in industry as part of the course and as well as the Star Wars series, graduates have worked at Leavesden studios, Elstree studios on feature films, the National Theatre on Warhorse and the Olympic opening ceremony.”
