Unlock your creative potential and dive into the world of textile design.

This full-time course in textile design is a creative and versatile course designed to nurture the innovative and independent designers of the future.

In your first year, you will build a strong foundation in core textile and surface design skills through hands-on workshops. These will cover areas such as design development, printed and dyed textiles (including natural dying), stitch and fabric manipulation, drawing, traditional and digital printmaking, and creative IT.

You’ll be encouraged to take an exploratory and experimental approach to design, with a focus on contemporary issues such as sustainability, fabric knowledge, industry trends, and in-depth creative research.

Throughout this course, you will create design solutions for various markets, including fashion textiles, interior fabric and surfaces, stationary, giftware, and art and craft applications. As you progress, you’ll select your own specialist pathway, leading to your final major project.

By the end of the course, you’ll have developed the essential skills for a career in the industry, freelance work, or further study at postgraduate level.
