COURSE OVERVIEW
Learn about the functions of the complex systems within modern automotive vehicles and how these systems integrate with each other to operate to the manufacturer’s specifications.
The practical approach of the course will develop your hand and diagnostic skills. You will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace, agreeing on customer vehicle needs and other skills associated with working in a garage.

This course covers all of the light vehicle service aspects, focusing on efficient replacement of key components to industry standards of competency.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Start at Level 2 if you have successfully completed the Level 1 course or have industry experience, and at least three GCSEs at grade 3 (D/E) or above, including English and maths.
After Level 2, you can seek employment or progress to Level 3, either full-time or as an apprentice (90% attendance record required).

You will be assessed throughout your course via practical activity observations, academic coursework and industry placements. Assessments are based around ‘real-life’ projects and industry or workplace scenarios including work experience. Your final grade will be awarded as pass, merit or distinction.
