Northbrook College students ignite their passion in Brands Hatch experience
Motorsport and automotive students from Northbrook College enjoyed an unforgettable motorsport experience at Brands Hatch racetrack.
The visit was part of the test day for the British Motorcycle Racing Club ahead of the first meeting of the season later in the week.
Students were lucky enough to have access to all the viewing areas of the circuit, as well as the garages and pitlane.
The event was organised with help from Jeremy Hill, the club’s Chairman and Chief Instructor. He explained to students what the day was about, how the club works and a few technical insights into the bikes and racing.
He also brought along his personal bike for students to look at, and even let some students have a go sitting on the bike.
The British Motorcycle Racing Club, known as the BMCRC or ‘Bemsee’, is one of the world’s oldest motorcycle racing clubs, and is the largest in the UK.
It caters for racing motorcycles, as well as Formula 1 and Formula 2 sidecars, and can be used for club racing, or as a stepping stone to go onto different British and World Championships.
Helena Thomas, Principal of Northbrook College, said:
“We were pleased to see our students have such a unique opportunity to visit a renowned venue and experience motorsport up close.
“Experiences like this inspire our students and highlight the many exciting pathways they can pursue after completing their course.
“A massive thank you to the BMCRC and their Chairman Jeremy Hill for inviting our students and giving them a memorable day of motorsport action.”
